Inside the "media" folder, I put a separate folder for "Videos" and then one inside that for "Movies". The media folder's name is lowercase, and I'm aware that certain file systems are case-sensitive so I'm careful not to change that. Then, it's a matter of putting the media inside Kodi's installation folder- in my case, it's S:\Program Files\Kodi\media. If you're here from the future and wondering how to do this, first install Kodi on your device in portable mode.
